You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will perform substantive legal research requiring detailed knowledge of a diverse combination of military justice, government policies, federal regulations, state, and federal statutes.
You will analyze and summarize substantive information on legal instruments for dissemination throughout the Strike Group and to share with peer organizations and higher headquarters.
You will train and mentor the staff on legal issues and be the expert on various areas of administrative law.
You will assemble, summarize, and compile substantive information using a comprehensive understanding of statutes, regulations, department orders, legal instruments, and other legal reference material.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for responding to and processing all allegations of sexual assault in the Strike Group.
You will provide education, training, and technical support and guidance regarding all investigations convened under the Manual of the Judge Advocate General.
You will conduct initial review of investigations or inquiries regarding injuries, loss of classified information, damage to government property, and a variety of other investigations.
You will design and implement staff procedures for ensuring ethics reviews are conducted for all matters requiring review on the DoD Joint Ethics Regulation and other applicable federal law.
You will conduct a legal review of all requests for administrative separation, ensuring compliance with legal procedure and technical requirements.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-12:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. analyzing and evaluating facts and evidence; 2. applying laws, regulations, and precedents, and performing extensive legal research to recommend; 3. justify legal action for the accurate and timely completion of investigations.
