You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.
Duties
You will provide legal and technical information to investigating officers, reviews and makes corrections to legally or administratively deficient investigations and ensures that all investigations are properly approved and maintained.
You will conduct training to command personnel on various administrative matters such as investigations, ethics and administrative separations.
You will prepare documents and packages for timely dissemination of technical and procedural information and submission of all financial disclosure results.
You will advise, research, and provide guidance on the statuses, regulations, rules and procedures for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
You will receive, research, analyze, investigate, and recommend action in the primary civil laws areas: ethics, standards of conduct, etc.
You will select, assemble, summarize and compile substantive and comprehensive legal and administrative information in order to prepare legal, advisory briefings, information papers, etc.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing, categorizing and performing preliminary legal evaluations of civil law issues; providing prompt and accurate advice on legal matters; and providing detailed legal research and writing concerning all organizational investigations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
