This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14 to 15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.
Duties
Implements security program policy and provides technical and procedural guidance, and oversight of the command’s security program.
Implements evaluation systems in order to accurately assess the security programs.
Reviews security programs, identifies vulnerabilities, recommends improvements and countermeasures to offset weaknesses, and recommends priorities for security related resource allocations.
Performs special studies, evaluations, and research to develop new policies and techniques to improve organizational security posture
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Requirements

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03). ) 1) Interpreting security policies and regulations to develop and implement a security program; 2) Performing qualitative and quantitative studies to develop strategies for enhancing the efficiencies and effectiveness of the security programs; 3) Coordinating security requirements for multiple programs within established thresholds; and 4) Enforcing all applicable security program policies, rules, and guidelines.
Term Appointment NTE 5 Years can be made permanent - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 5 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
