Duties
You will receive monthly an average of 120 individuals written request for Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) (w/o dependents).
You will review content, format and completeness and determine eligibility utilizing criteria contained in existing regulations, and based on current installation policies and procedures.
You will maintain files or records to keep documents organized according to the organization's polices or procedures.
You will create copy, edit, calculate, revise, retrieve, store and print a wide variety of documents in final format form.
You will prepare start and stop of basic allowance for housing (BAH).
You will determine housing eligibility utilizing criteria contained in existing regulatory instructions and current utilization and occupancy data in order to recommend approval or disapproval.
You will assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of automated databases for statistical and historical information relating to bachelor housing.
You will conduct interviews to determine qualifications of bachelor housing.
You will compile monthly data to generate Daily Average Occupancy reports.
You will screen phone calls and answer questions on eligibility and regulations.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You are required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Security Level (IT-II) via an ANACI Investigation in order to access Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS).
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing general administrative or clerical duties; reviewing documents/requests for completeness; maintaining records and inputting data into designated databases or systems; creating, editing, and checking documents such as correspondence, reports, and calendars; extracting information from routine reports and documents; using a variety of office automation software programs and applications; clearly relaying information and instructions; using tact and diplomacy when dealing with others, even in stressful situations.
