This position is located in Management Directorate, Office of Administration, Logistics Management Division.
As a Deputy Chief, you will lead, coordinate, analyze and evaluate management programs, provide expert advice to employees and senior leadership, and identify best practices to improve efficiency.
Duties
Direct and oversee all resource functions of the program office to include financial operations, HR related operations, training, communications, and strategic planning.
Manage and direct a staff of supervisors and their subordinates in carrying out the work requirements and undertaking special projects as assigned by the Chief.
Provide leadership in strategic planning, organizational capability, and other long-term initiatives to ensure the continued effective and productive operations of logistics and HQ service areas.
Resolve informal complaints and grievances, providing advice and counsel to employees related to work and administrative matters, effecting disciplinary measures as appropriate.
Determine goals and objectives that need additional emphasis, develop measures that evaluate performance, and make recommendations for program improvement.
Serve as a principal advisor to high-ranking officials in USCIS and other Federal agencies, various governing boards and committees, and private industry on all matters relating to logistics and HQ services.
Formulate and implement policy as it relates to logistics and HQ service areas
Research and write reports or other working documents that provide authoritative guidance on complex and far reaching program issues.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/22/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/22/2024.
GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Overseeing the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for a major program or initiative;
Serving as an advisor to senior leadership in developing and/or analyzing overall policies, programs, regulations and short-and-long range plans;
Preparing written communication to advance strategic objectives involving agency-wide issues;
Providing guidance and performance expectation to employees to encourage career growth and advancement.
