You will serve as a Deputy Director of Operations (N3B) in the OPERATIONS Directorate at HDQTRS NDW.
Duties
You will advise Joint Planning Groups and senior leaders on policy guidance and overall program direction.
You will review, update, or revise instructions, directives, and notices concerning continuity of programs and operations.
You will direct the development of a program plan related to Fire and Emergency Services, Port Operations, Air Operations, Force Protection, Safety and Occupational Health, Training and Exercises, Emergency Management, and Joint Operations and Plans.
You will present, justify, defend, or negotiate program issues during meetings.
You will establish goals, structures, and processes to direct and guide programs, projects, and policy development.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Utilizing an in-depth knowledge of public safety operations programs and mission requirements to manage a large complex multi-command, multi-claimant program; 2) Applying resource planning and budgeting principles to improve work methods and procedures to increase output with similar or fewer resources; 3) Reviewing policy directives from higher authorities and evaluating them for changes required for regional operations; and 4) Briefing senior leaders on alternative courses of action to comply with new or revised policies and to ensure the cost effective and efficient accomplishment of the objectives of the operations programs.
