The Administrative Support Assistant (OA) performs a wide variety of administrative duties in support for the overall administration function of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System Community Care Service.
Duties
Major Duties Include (but not limited to):
Generate memos, composing, and editing letters, reviewing correspondence for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with folding of patient/provider letters and ensure that they are mailed timely.
The ability to articulate medical information to staff from the service line to other service lines, patients, family members.
Receives all incoming correspondence and routes appropriately.
Timekeeper Duties - Serve as primary timekeeping, attendance, and leave administrator for the service line.
Participates fully in the development of new or revised internal standard operating procedures as well tracking of the stand operating procedure process.
Maintains inventory of office supplies and ordering supplies when appropriate.
Perform records management functions as stated in relevant guidance to include records creation and collection, maintenance and use, and disposition.
Assists with inventory of equipment used by the Community Care Services and process electronic work orders for equipment when needed.
Serves as a PIV sponsorship for the Community Care Service Line.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/21/2024.
GS-06 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

40 words per minute typing speed.
GS-06 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk, although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. The incumbent works with a computer screen and keyboard. Some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to walking to outlying areas. The work places no special physical demands on the employee.

Education
As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
