You will serve as a TECHNICAL WRITER-EDITOR in the TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS BRANCH of SWFLANT KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will apply a practical knowledge of Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic (SWFLANT) organization and operations (including the materials, equipment, facilities, and methods of production) to plan, evaluate, and monitor production operations.
You will prepare professional correspondence, reports, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, documentation, and presentations.
You will ensure new technical advances and new or revised higher-level requirements are incorporated into SWFLANT documentation to support implementation schedules.
You will develop edits or obtain review of others for the timely and effective establishment of new or revised technical requirements.
You will prepare, edit, and coordinate review of the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the documentation used in association with the mapping of compliance documentation of contractor processes to government requirements.
You will develop graphs, charts, and presentations as necessary to display inspection-finding status.
You will track and coordinate responses to inspection findings in the assigned database and other tasks related to the Technical Requirements Branch as assigned by the Branch Head.
You will author, manage, direct, and coordinate changes to the SWFLANT Technical Program (STP) Manual and the Technical Department Operations Manual.
You will consult on investigations concerning contractual and technical requirements, in internal and external evaluations, and inspections of various types.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-2 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing or editing technical documents, publications, course materials, or articles to ensure new advances are incorporated and meet technical program requirements or guidelines. This experience must have required substantial subject-matter or technical knowledge of the field. This experience must have demonstrated the ability to acquire and present technical information through independent reading, interviews with subject-matter specialists, observation of tests and experiments, interpretation of blueprints or diagrams, or other appropriate methods. Such experience may have been acquired as a writer or editor of technical reports, articles, manuals, or specifications.
