You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICAL WRITER-EDITOR in the TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT of SWFLANT KINGS BAY.
This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.
Duties
You will develop standards, criteria, policies and overall long range plans for technical program requirements with technical guidance from the government engineers.
You will be responsible for both personally performed work as resident expert on technical requirements documentation for SWS processing as well as management of the Branch.
You will be accountable for conclusive management action on matters concerned with the basic content and character of assigned Branch operations.
You will formulate technical program requirements documentation, including approaches, proposals for all program tasks and elements.
You will coordinate the development of the on-site technical document capabilities required for effective execution of operations.
You will prepare, implement, and maintain a system to review, coordinate, and track SWFLANT technical requirements documentation.
You will represent SWFLANT as the recognized technical requirements subject matter expert to internal and external organizations at official meetings. Prepare and give presentations as necessary.
You will propose technical documentation and policy changes IAW internal and external requirements. Develop and coordinate a command position.
Requirements

- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing or editing technical documents, publications, course materials, or articles to ensure new advances are incorporated and meet technical program requirements or guidelines. This experience must have required substantial subject-matter or technical knowledge of the field. This experience may have been acquired as a writer or editor of technical reports, articles, manuals, or specifications from Strategic Weapons Systems, TRIDENT D5 Missile, or submarine launched program.
