About the Position: Serves as a Food Services Specialist at U.S. 406th Army Field Support Brigade (ASFB), Support Operations (SPO) in Ft Liberty, NC.
Duties
Provides food service program oversight to ensure timely operational support and integration of new logistical or changing concepts and to develop methods and techniques required for program execution.
Validates budget requirements which include contracting, food service operating supplies, life-cycle replacement of equipment, food service equipment maintenance, and other requirements.
Performs multi-functional logistics planning, manning, resources and budget formulation and administration to support food service operations.
Prepares correspondence, briefings, plans, operations orders (OPORDs) and fragmentary orders (FRAGOs) to support food service operations.
Communicates long-range planning to ensure efficient and effective provision and updating of equipment; food preparation, quality and facilities equipment, facilities, training, and personnel concerns.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Within 90 days of entrance on duty (EOD), must have or be able to obtain and maintain any Food Service Safety certifications required by TB MED 530-Tri Serviced Food Code and Army Regulation 30-22 Army Food Program within the required time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience advising, monitoring, and coordinating food service support at the installation level; and reviewing and validating all Performance Work Statements (PWS) for all contracting actions in support of food service operations; and analyzing and interpreting mission assignments to establish program objectives, and develop plans for accomplishment of the Food Service Program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12 or above.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
