This billet is the Director, Process Improvement, which is a Program Management billet in the New Construction Aircraft Carrier Ford Class Program Office (PMS 378) in the PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICE CARRIERS.
Duties
You will serve as an expert program manager responsible for overall management and integration in balancing the many factors required to establish shipbuilding program priorities, milestones and strategic goals
You will act as an expert advisor to the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager on all aspects of program integration, program planning, strategic thought, industrial base considerations, and foreign relations.
You will advise Principal Assistant Program Managers and Project Managers in developing, organizing, analyzing, executing and monitoring
planned requirements.
You will execute and monitor the application of over-arching policy and regulations while ensuring high-quality and actionable results.
You will serve as the program office lead for all foreign military sales and foreign military interactions.
You will develop program, budget, contract and execution plans for the aircraft carrier New Construction Program.
You will prepare internal and external correspondence pertaining to the New Construction program to communicate program requirements and to manage projects.
You will advise on the application of the ship/systems acquisition processes, policies, regulations, principles and practices for all elements of program management.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating program requirements or functions (e.g. Plan of Action & Milestones, financial management plan, contract documentation, workforce, and training) to support the planning and execution of acquisition processes, policies, or regulations for major shipbuilding or weapons systems programs.
