Duties

Functions as a Management Analyst for the Correctional Programs Branch, Central Office. Responsible for internal communications with other Bureau of Prisons staff, communication with other government agencies and communication with the general public. Assists in the development of division and BOP policies based on the analysis of pertinent operational data. This assistance may range from providing written reports, to identifying potentially conflicting policies in other areas, to, on occasion, assisting in drafting specific policies. Helps in managing and coordinating of the Financial Responsibility Program and Victim/Witness section functions required for program review analysis (i.e., strategic planning, management assessment, and program analysis). Monitors, via SENTRY, all non-committed inmates identified in the Victim/Witness Program pending designation to a Bureau of Prisons facility.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related. Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progress for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in gathering and analyzing information to formulate reports, evaluate program effectiveness and assisting with policy development. Experience that demonstrates knowledge of data base computer programs and word processing software in order to run reports; experience in manipulating and organizing data into reports or logs. Experience in preparing correspondence in response to inquiries from the public, other agencies, Congressional correspondence and internal memoranda. Experience in coordinating and monitoring Inmate Financial Responsibility programs. Experience in assisting with the preparation, planning and coordination of training programs. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Have a combination of education and experience. This experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
