You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the FLEET TECHNICAL SUPPORT DIVISION (CODE 210), ENGINEERING & PLANNING DEPARTMENT (CODE 200) of PSNS and IMF, Everett, WA.
2024 Salary Ranges:
GS-11: $81,242-$105,612
GS-12: $97,376-$126,585
Duties
You will provide technical assistance on urgent mission-degrading CASREPs or similar problems affecting major systems.
You will communicate with ship's officers, exercising leadership, tact and persuasion to influence and control corrective actions to be taken.
You will investigate and resolve specific problems and provide a final field test documentation for elimination of the problems.
You will resolve complex problems in assigned systems and equipment while often under pressure for rapid results to meet operational schedules.
You will exchange information with all levels of the organization on important or controversial problems.
You will influence or persuade others on technical points about which there are disagreements and controversy.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
For GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying engineering principals, theories, practices and techniques to evaluate and troubleshoot exploitation network systems to diagnose and resolve atypical problems.
For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying engineering principals, theories, practices and techniques to analyze and evaluate exploitation network systems to identify atypical problems and recommend solutions.
