About the Position: This position is located in Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, KY.

Duties

Provide life support training in all disciplines (BLS, ALS, PALS) to all clinicians affiliated with the hospital. Provide updated information to staff after regulatory guidance updates. Serve as Program manager for promotion and mentorship for training instructors and instructors. Serve as the Program Manager, training coordinator, and primary training instructor for all life support-based programs and oversee satellite facilities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Incumbent must maintain licensure/certification as EMT-Paramedic, EMT-Instructor/Coordinator, ACLS-Instructor, PALS-Instructor, BLS-Instructor/Traner, AMLS-Instructor and PHTLS-Instructor.
  • This position requires the ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled (medical education, health administration, leadership or medical simulation). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education / Training Program AdministrationEducational and Training TechnologyInstructional Delivery and Learner Development Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
