You will serve as a NUCLEAR MECHANICAL INSPECTOR (SHIPS) LEADER in the Nuclear Inspection Division, Code 139, Department of Navy, NAVSEA, NNSY, Quality Assurance Office of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will ensure the safety and operational capabilities of nuclear reactor plant systems having oversight on highly sophisticated quality control procedures and skills.
You will utilize knowledge of receipt inspection procedures, techniques, requirements, and recording inspection performance or documentation of deficiencies.
You will lead or mentor a group of inspectors with varying individual knowledge levels in safety and operations in a nuclear reactor plant onboard ships.
Requirements

receipt inspection, pre-use inspection and marking verification of nuclear material to ensure proper material control is maintained and perform weld joint in-process and acceptance inspections for nuclear welding and nondestructive tests (NDT);
verify material through performing physical tests, physical comparisons, certification documentation, material marking, and post installation generic identification and traceability verification and conduct mechanical, piping, and structural inspections;
using special measuring and inspection devices (i.e. micrometers, gauge blocks, Heise gauges, durometer testers, thread gauges, borescopes, and vernier calipers);
