This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Temp/Term Appt Authority to meet Critical Hiring Needs to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This Administrative Support Assistant (OA), GS- 0303-05/06 position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, SWD, Ft. Worth District, Engineering and Construction Division located in Ft. Worth, TX. Position will be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 18 Months.
Duties
Perform and/or provide guidance on such matter as fiscal administration using the automated Corps of Engineers Financial Management Systems (CEFMS) system, training, correspondence, timekeeping, mail management, and record management.
Deliver a variety of administrative and support type duty in such area as administration, travel, training, files and correspondence management, fiscal administration, personnel administration.
Serve as a liaison between the Section and the Finance Office assuring all CEFMS data is processed correctly and in a timely manner.
Serve as an administrative focal point for the Branch.
Conduct a physical property inventory periodically and prepares applicable reports and documents on such items as necessary.
May initiate training requests/actions.
Receive visitors and callers to the Branch involving inquiries concerning a variety of substantive administrative and/or technical issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to type 40 words per minute.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

GS-05
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of clerical duties to support an organization such as recordkeeping, replenishing supplies, and replying to inquiries. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing administrative functions, filing, correspondence, data entry support to human resources specialist or officer, AND 2) Utilizing automated office software to gather budgetary data, prepare reports, and coordinate travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
This position is for 6 months and can be extended to a maximum of 18 months depend on management need. It cannot be converted to any other appointment, and cannot be converted into competitive service, this is a temporary position only.
