You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST in the CYBERSECURITY & SOFTWARE ENGINEERING DIVISION, DIGITAL ENGINERRING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
Duties
You will serve as the first level supervisor for branch personnel and involve the technical and administrative management of engineers, technicians, and product support personnel.
You will oversee and direct of: In-service Engineering and fleet functions, such as distance and on-site support; modernization; systems engineering; software and hardware; cybersecurity; and Test and Evaluation for weapon/combat/missile systems.
You will provide oversight and mentorship to all employees in the branch to ensure technical and career development of branch employees.
You will manage a multidisciplinary workforce including engineers, technicians, logisticians, and contractors.
You will execute tasks relating to hardware engineering, software engineering, networks, cybersecurity, systems Operations and Maintenance, and
safety.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Program Manager, proficiency level Advanced the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NT-04 (GS 11-12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying Information Technology (IT) principles to direct technical teams in the execution of Life Cycle Engineering efforts for shipboard systems.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
