Duties

Serves as Senior Logistics Planner Liaison for a designated organization/area of responsibility. Coordinates with and advises the Command Planners on the ability to enhance combat readiness through integrated application of existing logistics resources and capabilities. Prepares Situation Reports (SITREPS), point papers, trip reports, staff reports, and is responsible for developing and finalizing Operation Plans. Responsible for the extensive analysis and planning for the logistics support required to develop plans and strategies for contingency military actions, operations other than war and military training exercises. Analyzes mission objectives to determine the type and extent of support required, coordinates with functional specialists for manpower, supplies, equipment and services, and evaluates proposed plans for impact and support feasibility.

  • You will be a Mission Essential employee. This requires you to work during an emergency to ensure continuation of essential functions. You may be required to work at the designated duty location, a telework site, or an alternate location/facility.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Ability to meet and deal with others, including senior management level personnel, to effectively change the customary ways/methods of conducting business and executing logistics plans. Communication skills necessary to convey points, positions and results to the most senior executive level of DoD, Service and Agency representatives. Applies expertise knowledge of pertinent DoD and service logistics policies, services regulations and practices, and related administrative aspects of all phases of plans development. Analyzes and plans for the logistics support required to develop plans and strategies for contingency military actions, operations other than war, and military training exercises. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
