This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance - Office of Financial Research. As an IT Specialist (DATAMGT), you will be responsible for developing data management and governance concepts, principles, and methods in support of data operations and complex Office of Financial Research (OFR) and Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) initiatives.

Duties

As an IT Specialist (DATAMGT) you will: Support development of data products and research by resolving data anomalies, tuning scrips, and defining derived datasets to support various research and development efforts. Develop workflows in current OFR data management tools and develop scripts in support of data operations and data quality initiatives. Ensure the metadata repository is kept current and review the data management and operations artifacts (processes, procedures, etc.) are kept current with periodic reviews and are supported by the metrics and measures. Support the collection and reporting of relevant metrics, measures and status that can be used to track health and maturity of the managed data assets.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the OR-60, (GS-14 equivalent) is one year (52) weeks of experience at the OR-53 (GS-13 equivalent), or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following: 1. Delivering data solutions to end users in research and analysis roles using financial market data from contract-driven financial instruments. (Examples of contract instruments may include money market funds, hedge funds, private equity, fixed income, repurchase agreements (repo), options, or futures); AND 2. Working directly with data users and IT Specialists to document and provide business requirements, data architectures, or data models/structures to facilitate the data acquisition, onboarding, development, or delivery of identified data needs; AND 3. Leading teams on a variety of large-scale projects and financial data initiatives utilizing project and data management principles, data analysis, data administration, data quality, or data architecture. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
