This position is with the Small Business Administration, Office of Investment and Innovation (OII) in Washington D.C.
Duties
This position is with SBA's Office of Investment and Innovation (OII) Investment and Innovation Ecosystem Development (IIED) Division. OII leads programs that provide the U.S. growth-oriented small business and startup community with access to financial capital, networks, assistance, and research and development (R&D) funds to build and grow small businesses and innovative startups. IIED is responsible for engaging with ecosystem stakeholders and managing the SBA Regional Innovation Cluster Initiative and the Growth Accelerator Fund Competition.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Managing a portfolio of SBA's development initiatives, providing oversight, and evaluation of program milestones; reviewing quarterly reports to identify problems and issues, providing training and resolving problems.
Resourcing management process for greater program management; facilitates the programming and efficient use of funding to support requirements.
Developing specific program planning data that incorporates cost, scheduling, forecasting, and evaluating.
Developing an understanding of the role and the authority and exercises persuasion and professionalism to assure compliance with best program practices, methods, and management policies.
Contacting public and private sector resources to determine scope of their programs and initiatives for small business owners; identifies key metrics for management consideration.
This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-13
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector that includes experience in:
1) Managing innovation or investment programs that support small businesses or entrepreneurs; AND
2) Executing, coordinating, monitoring and reporting on a portfolio of Federal contracts, grants, or prize awards.
