About the Position: Performs a wide variety of personnel, administrative and clerical tasks associated with the requirements and procedures of the Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS) including processing Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for Active Army and Reserve Soldiers. Position is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), at Fort Knox Kentucky.
Duties
Verify accuracy of information being cited and quoted in replies, regulations and directives.
Assist the customers as to the courses of action or options available.
Perform intensive research of obsolete and occasionally obscure laws, precedents, and other regulatory material and the requirement to make judgment calls when the evidence is missing.
Review and applies applicable directives, regulations, policies, laws and precedent cases.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- his position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting the customer through oral and written communication by problems or cases; providing customer service to commands and agencies; and utilizing computer software packages in order to do assigned duties which may include, but are not limited to: Word processing, database management, electronic mail, the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), Personnel Electronic Management System (iPERMS), Total Army Personnel Data Base-Reserve (TAPDB-R), Integrated Work Stations (IWS), Soldier Management System (SMS) and automated form packages.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
