This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC); Superintendent, Library Buildings and Grounds (LBG), Assistant Superintendent Facilities Operations Division, Maintenance Branch. The Maintenance Mechanic General Supervisor serves as Principal Manager or General Foreperson of the Maintenance Branch; subdivided into the Heating Ventilation Air conditioning (HVAC), Plumbing, Maintenance Evening and Night trade shops, Elevator, Electrical, Fire Electronics, and Plumbing trade shops.

Duties

As General Supervisor, you supervise the trades, crafts, and labor functions of construction, renovation, installation, maintenance and repair projects.

WS-15: Must possess relevant experience and analytical skills to perform on the job, as well as the functional and technical skills required of the role, to include: - Knowledge of the facilities management, building systems, construction, and contracting practices used in conducting business process analyses. - Communicating orally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds and experience is critically important. - Evaluating and recommending ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations; and - Analyzing organizational and operational problems, building cohesive coalitions both within interna and external clients, and improve morale through leadership.
