This position is located in National Capital Parks-East, in the Maintenance Division. The primary purpose of the position is to perform simple and routine work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades.

Duties

The major duties of the Maintenance Worker position include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs simple and routine maintenance of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, trails and equipment and related facilities, including snow removal. Performs simple carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs. Safely operates various groundskeeping equipment including mowers, string trimmer, hedge trimmers, pole saws, hand tools etc. Picks up trash, refuse and clears dumping sites as needed. Performs routine farm maintenance chores including animal feeding, manure removal etc as needed (Oxon Hill farm site only).
