About the Position: This position is an Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-6 working in Philadelphia, PA for the Department of the Army, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The incumbent will provide administrative support services, functions, and assistance in order to support an office.

Duties

Works under the general supervision of the Chief, Operations Division, Office of the Chief of Operations Division. Provide technical advice and assistance regarding all personnel and office administration related transactions to include reports, documents, programs etc. Coordinates, prepares and processes personnel related actions for the directorate employees. Act as training coordinator for all career and non career training within Operations Division Initiate and coordinate travel for staff Provides advice and assistance to the Assistant Chief, Operations Division and subordinate supervisors on the administrative or procedural processes for all civilian matters. Conducts the Annual Training Needs Survey to identify individuals training needs for employees Plans, coordinates and accomplishes a variety of program support tasks such as preparation and data gathering for special reports for Office of the Chief. Maintains Chief of Operations Division calendar and anticipates need for background information for use in correspondence, telephone calls, meetings, etc Receives Congressional inquires and visitors and directs to appropriate organization/division/personnel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be required to serve a one year probationary period.
  • Incumbent must be able to type 40 words per minute.
  • May be required to travel up to 10% of the time

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
