You will serve as a INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (BOILER) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will handle tools and equipment (e.g., wrenches, thickness gauges, hoists, measuring devices, electric and battery operated tools) to repair, adjust, and test machinery and equipment. You will install, maintain, and repair equipment connected or related to pumping systems (e.g., filters, traps, valves, heat exchangers, automatic valves). You will coordinate maintenance, repair, and inspection requirements of industrial equipment with customers. You will read and interpret blueprints to diagnose problems, plan sequence of repairs, and disassemble or reassemble mechanical equipment.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION, such as: 1) Performing recurring maintenance and major repairs on all types of pumps; 2) Performing necessary maintenance on rapid sand filters, settling basins, upflow clarifiers, intake well, and clear well; 3) Performing operation and maintenance activities for the water plant disinfection process; 4) Renewing gland packing on valves, exercising valves from the fully closed to fully open position.
