You will serve as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic in the Fuels Department, Maintenance Division of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH).

Duties

You will inspect systems for leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and inoperable components in units such as distribution lines, barges, storage tanks, and various types of valves and pumps. You will install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment, such as sandblasting machines, tank level indicators, portable pumps, portable generators, air compressors, steam cleaners, and other non-production machinery and equipment You will set-up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill pressers, and grinders to manufacture component parts or re-machine existing parts such as bushings, bearings, seals, couplings, and pistons. You will perform hydrostatic testing using fuel or water to conduct structural integrity tests or calibration of instruments

Requirements

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform common tasks including the application of specific maintenance and repair general industrial plan machinery and equipment such as sandblasting machines, tank level indicators (TLIs), portable pumps, portable generators, air compressors, battery operated trains, steam cleaners, fire doors, and other non-production machinery and equipment working under the close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.??????
