You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Operations Department, Logistics Support Division of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.
Duties
You will perform logistics management specialist work and deals with supply and logistics issues which require analysis and recommendations for improved operations of the Logistics Support Division and other shore infrastructure.
You will Incumbent coordinates logistics services for empty pallet pick up with local DLA, commercial vendor and Navy Region Hawaii Port Operations personnel.
You will coordinate stevedore onload and offload of subsistence orders and Material Processing Center (MPC) deliveries to waterfront maritime customers.
You will ensure all requests for routine logistical requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner and any logistical requests beyond the scope of the incumbent are channeled to management for staffing, review, and resolution.
You will accept problems and suggestions from assigned units, analyzes service providers' support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements
You will serve as logistics specialist and technical expert in logistics and supply management principles performing tasks such as coordination of Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste delivery and offloads and providing "husbanding" services.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is not appropriate or eligible for Alternative Work Schedule (AWS) in accordance with NAVSUP AWS policy.

Qualifications
GS-9: Your resume must have one year of Logistics Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting afloat Supply Department operations for all aspects of shipboard support, Department of Defense (DoD) logistics, applying supply management principles. I have experience independently analyzing logistics management operation in support of ships. I also have experience in the resolution of more complicated operation shortfalls, limitations and other conditions related to ships within their operational control that impacts logistics initiatives. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Accept problems and suggestions from assigned units, analyze service providers' support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements to shipboard activities; 2) Provide assistance with ordering, manifesting, delivery and turn-in material, which may include material identified as stock, open purchase or ship/submarine's store material; and 3) Apply a practical knowledge of well-established and commonly applied supply and logistics management principles, concepts, methodologies, to resolve logistics support/service problems when such work requires the applicant of judgement and analysis.
GS-07: Your resume must have one year of Logistics Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting afloat Supply Department operations for all aspects of shipboard support, Department of Defense (DoD) logistics, applying supply management principles. I have experience analyzing logistics management operation in support of ships. I also have experience assisting in the resolution of complex operation shortfalls, limitations and other conditions related to ships within their operational control that impacts logistics initiatives under supervision of supervisor. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Accept problems and suggestions from assigned units, analyze service providers' support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements to shipboard activities with the help of Senior Logistics Management Specialists; 2) Provide assistance with ordering, manifesting, delivery and turn-in material, which may include material identified as stock, open purchase or ship/submarine's store material; and 3) Apply a practical knowledge of well-established and commonly applied supply and logistics management principles, concepts, methodologies, to resolve logistics support/service problems when such work requires the applicant of judgement and analysis.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09
Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
GS-07
1 full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement.
