About the Position: National Guard Bureau, Joint Staff NGB-J6, C4 Systems and CIO Directorate, Arlington, Virgina.
About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C., Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Coordinate with appropriate agencies on the facilitation of units in order to obtain required spectrum assets.
Conduct operational tests during the installation of equipment using user organization and maintenance personnel.
Coordinate telecommunications program management to meet operation mission requirements for the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The employee must be able to successfully complete Electromagnetic Spectrum Management training within 6 months after hire and maintain training requirements throughout employment.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This is a Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) position as outlined in DoDD 8140.01 - Cyberspace Workforce Management.
- The incumbent of this position must achieve the foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to this position, in accordance with DoDI 8140.02
- Cont- must also achieve the resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to this position, in accordance with DoDI 8140.02." To include specialty Spectrum Manager Courses.
- This position is designated as Mission Essential. Employee can be required to remain on duty or report for duty during contingency operations or other emergency situations.
- Cont-Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
- The employee may be required to work shift work if the organization moves to a 24/7 operation during national emergency, severe weather or other installation closings.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: utilize a wide range of military telecommunication technology and principles of radio frequency spectrums that impact private citizens; develop tactical communications systems for military units; review policy documentation for existing policy implications to net-ready attributes for technical end-to-end exchanges; conduct meetings, formal briefings and writing formal proposals on spectrum management allocations

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
