About the Position: The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, headquartered in North Chicago, IL, is a jointly staffed command, staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 66 military processing locations (Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS)/Remote Processing Stations (RPS)), determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services. This is a permanent position.

Duties

As a Management Analyst, you will: Develop data analyses to evaluate alternative courses of action using sound judgment for addressing business problems and provides recommendations for solution. Provide recommendations for solutions to problems encountered. Represent the organization at various internal and external organizational/agency meetings to participate in/provide information on staff planning and decision-making processes. Advise superiors of the progress of various projects and any unusual complications or matters, with recommendations. Serve as a Management Analyst in the administration of accession and operations processes and initiatives. Collaborate with other staff to provide support and input for strategic planning efforts, governance, and transformation initiatives. Examine, evaluate, and implement projects executing project management. Plan and carry out projects, as assigned, and provide recommendations for solutions to problems encountered If filled at the GS-09 level, duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under closer supervision.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below: Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Operations Research, or a closely related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-11: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18.
