About the Position: The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, headquartered in North Chicago, IL, is a jointly staffed command, staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 66 military processing locations (Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS)/Remote Processing Stations (RPS)), determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services. This will be filled as a permanent position.

Duties

Develop overall Management Analysis programs for the Command. Propose methods to enhance the performance of the Command's enterprise accession reporting system. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters. Prepares Conducts a variety of briefings and reviews for senior military and civilian officials to recommend solutions during the decision process. Monitors operations, support, and service to the USMEPCOM processing facility elements through periodic visits to the field and makes recommendations as necessary. Analyzes and evaluates statistical data on USMEPCOM processing facilities to identify trends, deficiencies, and accomplishments. Develop functional requirements (functional and semi-technical in nature) for Command?s enterprise accession reporting system supporting the applicant processing mission. Regulates functional software testing processes from user acceptance to implementation. Supervise and direct subordinate employees within the branch. Conducts analysis and coordinates with the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) for determining most efficient method for moving recruits from USMEPCOM processing facilities to RTCs. Assists in recommending USMEPCOM policy changes based on extensive field research and analysis.

This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-12).
