About the Position: Serve as a Management and Program Assistant for the Business Operations/Integration Division of the Directorate of Public Works at USAG Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Develop recommendations, charts, statistical tables, special reports, staff papers, and other critical General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) related correspondence.
Monitor program work and funding status through the use of readily available data.
Contact division personnel to discuss problems, gather data, and to secure GFEBS support for the organization.
Recommend adjustments in support of changes in program operations and/or funding based upon factual considerations.
Identify data required for use in the management and direction of programs.
Compile summary reports outlining the impact of GFEBS in terms of quality, quantity, rate of progress, and balance between programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position may require the incumbent to work overtime.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 2 Years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grades can be extended beyond five (5) years if the temporary activity becomes the obligated activity for placement of the employee at the end of the time-limited assignment.
When a time-limited promotion is terminated, the Army employee will be returned to the position from which they were temporarily promoted; or, with their consent, to a different position of equivalent grade and pay (AR 690-300/10-8).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Applying administrative technical analysis rules, guidelines, regulations and/or precedents; (2) Inputting data into administrative systems such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and Defense Travel System (DTS); AND (3) Reviewing various types of data to ensure proper arrangement of material using spreadsheet and presentation software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
