The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides leadership on food and agriculture issues based on public policy, the best available science and effective management. The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) links U.S. agriculture to the world, improves foreign market access for U.S. food and agricultural products, builds new markets, improves the competitive position of U.S. agriculture in the global marketplace, and provides food aid and technical assistance to foreign countries.
Duties
The duties may include but are not limited to: Participates in the technical review of proposals, supports performance reporting, and communicates outcomes.
Provides guidance to country, regional, and thematic or issues-based teams on matters related to agriculture and food security, land and resource systems, and conservation.
As required, provides technical, analytical, administrative, and managerial support and direction for a portfolio of support mechanisms.
Serves as a senior expert in the Land and Resource Governance Division on land and natural resource management systems, with a focus on the application of geospatial analytics to support sustainable food systems and natural resources governance
Facilitates program planning for USAID Missions by applying geospatial data and analysis and integrating relevant evaluation, assessment, and study reports within land and natural resource systems that inform strategic planning and activity design.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL: Applicants must have one-year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level that may have been obtained in the private or public (local, county, state, Federal) sectors which demonstrates: facilitates strategic planning for agency missions through applying geospatial data and analysis and integrating relevant evaluation, assessment, and study reports and data within land and natural resource systems that inform strategic planning and activity design; provides guidance to country, regional, and thematic or issues-based teams on matters related to agriculture and food security, land and resource systems, and conservation and designs centralized and mission-specific natural climate solutions programs.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.
