NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

As a Financial Specialist within the Laboratory and Analytical Services Division, some of your specific duties will include:
Qualifications
For GS-07:
Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-07 level:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-05 level work include: examining financial management documents for proper accounting classification and authorization; performing reconciliations; analyzing a variety of accounts; entering and processing data into various accounts and the general ledger; recognizing and adjusting differences between the general ledger and subsidiary accounts; preparing monthly trial balances and financial reports; reviewing procedures related to the automated accounting system; and reviewing financial data from various sources for completeness.
**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of one full year of directly related, progressively higher level graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours, or the equivalent).
