About the Position: Serves as Executive Officer to the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) G-1/4/9 (Personnel, Logistics and Engineering) a TRADOC HQ Staff Principal SES-level executive.
Supervisory duties are approximately 10% of the time.
Duties
As an Executive Officer, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Analyzes problems and other issues to determine the best and most appropriate course of action.
Lead strategic initiative and innovative planning efforts for directorate.
Coordinates administrative matters that cross organizational lines and ensures an open communication between organizations while addressing a number of issues for which the incumbent has specific administrative oversight responsibility.
Develops, reviews, and interprets various regulations and directives pertaining to administration and management of G-1/4/9 missions and responsibilities.
Assist in the direction, supervision, and coordination of staff activities.
Tasks divisions and office staff to accomplish various actions on behalf of the DCS and ADCS and reports the status of such actions.
Draft policies, evaluations, speeches and directives on behalf of executive.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), up to 15% of the time.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
