About the Position: This position is located at Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville.

Duties
Monitor and maintain inventory to ensure sufficient supplies are available.
Utilize the appropriate sterilization method based upon manufacture requirements and recommendations.
Perform testing on equipment for the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is be required for this position.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential.
- This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement therefore the incumbent is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the ability to lift approximately 45 pounds without assistance and weighs over 45 pounds with assistance.
- This position may required incumbent to wear and use personal protective equipment as required and provided by the employer.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations.
- This position requires rotating shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- This position requires the employee to obtain Hepatitis B Immunization unless exempted by a physician.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in sterilizing medical and surgical supplies and equipment; monitoring and maintaining inventory data logs; and processing and storing medical supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as medical supply processing, storage, and distribution; sterile supplies, operating room, and surgical technician courses.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
