This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Disability Program Manager (DPM) performing a range of functions to facilitate and support continued employment of people with disabilities (PWD) at US Army Acquisition Support Center (USAASC).
Duties
Ensure managers and supervisors are familiar with and have tools to implement the Army Reasonable Accommodation Procedures and PAS Procedures.
Collaborate with Civilian Personnel Office to provide guidance on developing and implementing special program initiatives to enhance the employment of individuals with disabilities.
Assist in development and update of affirmative employment plans, preparation of annual reports and participating in Barrier Analysis Working Groups.
Pursuant to 29 CFR § 1614.203(d)(3)(i), ensure Army Reasonable Accommodation Procedures are made available to all employees and applicants for employment in written and other acceptable formats that are easy to understand.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing a Equal Employment Opportunity program for a large organization; 2) Analyzing workforce demographic and diversity data to monitor the progress in achieving Equal Employment Opportunity goals; AND 3) Advising Managers and employees on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies/procedures, and laws/regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
