About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W27PAA US ARMY ACQUISITION SUPPORT CENTER. Serves as a multi-discipline Security Specialist for US Army Acquisition Support Center (USAASC).
Duties
Serve as a Foreign Disclosure Security Specialist responsible for authoritative information and service for the Foreign Disclosure (FD) Program as it applies to the assigned organization and its subordinate activities.
Maintain continuing responsibility of the Personnel Security Program by implementing and/or ensuring compliance with DoD, Dept. of Army (DA) and local policy and procedures.
Administer the Information Security Program through development of instructions, procedures, program reviews, and inspections.
Maintain a wide range of security activities internal and external to the organization's various areas of operations.
Solve conventional security problems and fulfills requests for information (RFIs) by interpreting U.S. Army regulations.
Perform duties primarily in Foreign Disclosure, Information Security, Personnel Security, Industrial Security, and investigating security violations.
Responsible for need-to-know determination and release of all classified and unclassified reports to requestors including contractors or DOD agencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.
- This position requires the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). **Please see the Additional Information section for more details.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience: 1) Facilitating the processes for Foreign National visits and the release/disclosure of information. AND 2) Applying knowledge of foreign disclosure regulations, policies, or agreements, such as, National Disclosure Policy and Delegation of Disclosure Authorization Letters (DDL), to determine eligibility of foreign governments to receive requested information. AND 3) Experience with at least one of the following General Intelligence Security (GIS) disciplines: Personnel Security, Information Security, or Industrial Security. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
