You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the DEPUTY CHIEF BUMED of BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.

Duties

You will provide guidance and answers to any security related questions. You will assist with operations of the Telecommunications Message Center. You will assist with the changing of locks and combinations, to include providing access to doors and turn stiles. You will process access badges for The Navy. You will ensure accurate and timely completion of final clearance actions.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience performing security debriefings regarding access to collaterally classified information. Experience ensuring accurate and timely completion of final clearance actions and related entries of final security actions through daily monitoring of the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) or similar systems. Experience applying comprehensive security regulations and criteria to specific situations and circumstances encountered in the performance of making access determinations. Experience utilizing standardized rules, procedures, terminology, or requirements to perform processing of security clearance actions. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

A master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree

OR

Obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled
