Duties
You will lay out, cut, bend, and assemble various sizes and types of pipes and associated appurtenances required for potable water distribution systems.
You will perform fault locating, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, installation and alterations to distribution and piping systems.
You will secure system for outages and supervise excavation.
You will make hydrostatic tests of various types of piping systems and pressure vessels to determine conformance to standards or to locate other defects.
You will perform minor repairs on leaks and/or clear obstructions to insure proper circulation, flow or pressure.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Uses various types of shop and portable machinery tools and equipment to cut, bend, silver solder, thread, caulk and assemble various types and sizes of pipes and fittings; 2) Inspects systems to ensure connections to pipes, tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, meters, traps, expansion joints, thermostats and various types of manual or mechanically operated valves are pressure tight.
