About the Position: This position is with the National Guard Bureau, Facility Services, Arlington, VA.
About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Responsible for planning and coordinating the command response to civil disaster and national or local security emergency events.
Provide advice and recommendations to the Facility Management Officer and other authority on a wide array of program issues.
Responsible for planning, readiness, and execution of a broad range of functions for supporting emergency operations
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent will be expected to respond to all emergencies that may happen after work hours and on weekends or holidays.
- This position is designated as a Key Position to ensure continuity in mission and cannot be vacated during national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization.
- Civilians in key positions must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligation.
- The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
- May be required to serve as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR). May serve as installation project officer.
- May be required to escort and supervise vendors in classified areas.
- Operations Security Officer Certification Level II (OPSEC Level II) required within 6 months of hire.

Minimum qualifications: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: apply principles and practices of emergency management, sufficient to develop the installation's emergency management plans and policies; plan and coordinate mission essential functions and disaster programs; brief senior management on emergency management plans and results.
