About the Position: Position is located at White Sands Test Center, Mission Support Dir, FBR Site Defense Force with duty location of White Sands Missile Range, NM.(merit)

Duties

Apply knowledge of nuclear security, special nuclear materials, anti-terrorism/force protection and law enforcement to design, develop, implement, and evaluate individual security guard skills and abilities. Input and maintain a training database for security guard training events. Participate in the development and revision of the Program of Instruction (POI) for the Post and Patrols Operating Instruction by providing definitive technical input for assigned portion. Review technical manuals, Army Regulations (AR's), Field Manuals (FMs), Training Circulars (TCs) and local regulations developed both inside and outside of the division for their treatment of assigned subject matter within the security area. Prepare lesson plans and testing materials, and deliver classroom instruction on security subjects such as, tactical deployment of response forces, perimeter securing procedures, firearms instruction, and use of deadly force. Develop lesson plans, advance sheets and related materials for class and security guard use covering assigned blocks of material in the Basic Law Enforcement training manual.

Requirements

  • Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.
  • The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position requires a pre-employment and annual physical examination.
  • Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
  • Position required initial and annual physical ability test (must pass initial PAT within 30 days of hiring date).
  • The incumbent must comply with all requirements of the current AR 190-56 and of the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) as set forth there-in.
  • Position will require shift work (to include change in work shift as necessary) that may encompass fluctuating tours of duty, evening, nights, weekends, holidays and Overtime.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations incumbent is required to report to work to support mission operations
  • Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg amendment to the gun control act of 1968 and is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban.
  • Employee must be trained and maintain current required certifications in CPR and first aid.
