About the Position: This Visual Information Specialist is located at U.S. Army Operational Test Command, G6 Test SPT Division with duty location of Fort Cavazos, Texas. (merit)

Duties

Utilize digital imaging software for areas such as editing/creating photos, videos, and audio products. Provide audiovisual services such as production, photography, digital imaging and printing in the visual information mission area. Provide visual information products in support of areas such as operational tests, assessments, and experiments essential to the fielding of warfighting systems. Apply visual design to present subject matter information in a visual form to convey the intended message to an audience.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Will be required to complete training/certification for operating tactical vehicles (HMMVW) access to some locations may be by tactical vehicle only.
  • TDY travel is required up to 25% of duty time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical examination and annual physical thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Plan visual aspect of printed media such as selecting format, size, general appearance, and cover design and color scheme for electronic publications; 2) Utilize computer graphics software to complete projects; AND 3) Capture imagery to document military equipment or systems and movement of personnel in a realistic operational environment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Knowledge ManagementOperating SystemsTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
