About the Position: Serves as an expert logistics management specialist, concerned with directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for major complex systems that encompass new and emerging technologies or complicated fielding requirements. This is a pay banded position. The NH-03 encompasses grades 12 and 13 on the General Schedule.

Duties

Manage intensive logistics management to support a complex major weapons system from concept through field deployment. Implement agency policy and procedures of acquisition to provide support of the program manager’s requirement to field fully supportable systems/equipment and meeting operational requirements for the soldier in the field. Monitor the status and quality of ILS development services and products. Manage the processes of monitoring and correcting deficiencies in ILS throughout the research, development, and acquisition process. Review ILS management and planning documents assuring that tailoring, streamlining, and acquisition reform are considered and applied.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • The duties of this position require occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing logistics management operations that involve planning the execution of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for sustainment of systems that could encompass new and emerging technologies and/or minor fielding requirements; 2) Serving as a technical advisor on logistics within the organization, ILS, and acquisition communities; AND 3) Processing documents and reports associated with the requisition, receipt, storage, inventory, shipment, disposition, and status of general and specialized supplies and equipment used by the organization. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level NH-02 (GS-11) position in the federal service.
