About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Utilize qualitative techniques for developing new procedures. Provide guidance to command to increase productivity. Analyze tasks to establish work interrelationships. Prepare operational planning sheets to enhance productivity. Perform technical support duties to support the organization.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This is a Term position scheduled to last two years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management. Cannot be made permanent.
• Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• This position has a Data Analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics Level One (1) Certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing research methods to analyze workload programs; 2) Preparing briefing to provide status updates to command on demand changes; and 3) Reviewing cost estimates to ensure direct fund accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
