About the Position: Serves as Writer-Editor (Speechwriter) to the Commanding General of United States Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE), a two-star command and the Army Medicine proponent responsible to envision and design responsive Army Medicine capabilities and structure that support the fielded force and the future force.
Duties
Serve as an expert on technical writing and performs editorial reviews on sensitive written material and products.
Mastery knowledge and expertise to serve as Commander’s speechwriter responsible for synchronizing, integrating, and crafting the Commanding General’s remarks and published works.
Review, develop, and produce communication materials for dissemination through various communication means to inform a wide variety of audiences both internal and external stakeholders.
Primary POC for command Congressional Inquiries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent is required to work irregular work hours and notification maybe short notice.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which expertise in strategic communications sufficient to create flexible and dynamic communications products; reviewing material for editorial quality, consistency, and compliance with established style, format, and content to ensure that products adhere to government style and format; working independently and exercising a wide latitude and judgment in planning, conducting, coordinating, and reporting on assigned tasks; conducting research and preparing speeches, briefings, talking points, Congressional testimony, and articles for publication to a wide variety of audiences in support of the Commander's overall outreach efforts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
