About the Position: Serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) under general guidance from the supervisor accomplish a variety of tasks in support of the mission and function of the organization. This position is located at the US Army Human Resources Command, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, Readiness Division, Fort Knox, KY 40122.
Duties
Review outgoing correspondence for conformance with regulations, grammar, format and command policies.
Maintain the Division Chief's calendar and based on the knowledge of the office workload and current issues of importance and schedules appointments and meetings.
Provide office automation supporting the division and subordinate branches.
Maintain several tracking systems using spreadsheet capability provided by software packages.
Responsible for timekeeping functions for civilian personnel assigned to the Division.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required occasionally to perform Temporary Duty Travel (TDY).
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical, statistical, and data entry tasks in support of the administrative work of the office; assisting in utilizing system commands to create, store, extract, and delete information from a variety of software packages; receiving visitors and phone calls and directing them to the appropriate location for assistance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
GS-05 Education: Four (4) years of education above high school obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying military and non-military HR rules, regulations, and policies pertaining to personnel management; operating military and non-military HR personnel management programs to revise, sort, and compare information from databases; aiding in interpreting and adapting agency policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
GS-06 Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, and Human Resource Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the administration of the travel program; assisting with office automation support to the organization; reviewing payroll records for accuracy; aiding in the initiation of civilian personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
GS-07 Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Human Resource Management etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position, such as Business Administration or Human Resource Management , as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
