This position is located in the Corporate University, Leadership Development Program of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and delivers management and leadership courses, lectures and seminars for FDIC employees. Duties

Designs, develops and teaches courses on appropriate leadership and management subjects related to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's mission and strategic plan. Classroom and virtual instruction on a broad curriculum will constitute over 50% of the incumbent's time. Develop and deliver primarily undergraduate up to graduate-level lectures and seminars in the areas of mission orientation, leading change, problem solving, time management, communication skills, problem solving, decision making, delegating, influence/ negotiation skills, diversity, critical thinking, creativity and innovation, emotional intelligence, resilience, conflict resolution, delegating, developing others, team building and overall leadership/management best practices. Participate in designing leadership development objectives, in part, through a demonstrated ability to integrate research, curriculum, teaching, and follow-up activities. Develop leadership courses including objectives, course content, educational methods, instructional strategies, case studies, simulations and other curriculum requirements. Participate in training and developing internal instructors to teach leadership and management courses, and monitor, evaluate and provide feedback for the improvement of instructor technique and overall effectiveness on an on-going basis. Provide program evaluation and assessment on the results of leadership instruments and assist in constructing development action plans for personal and professional development as part of the leadership program. Plan and implement program activities, conduct research and employ results in areas such as strategic leadership development, employee, team lead, and supervisor assessment and development, organizational change and transformation.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. Basic Requirements: 1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position such as organizational leadership and management, psychology of leadership, strategic management, organizational consulting and change leadership, or organizational behavior. OR 2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position as described above, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. AND Specialized Experience: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience teaching formal, instructor-led, leadership training virtually and in-person; and designing and developing leadership course content. Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
