About the Position: This position will serve as an EXPERIMENTATION SPECIALIST (JOINT MODERNIZATION) with the JOINT MODERNIZATION COMMAND (JMC) G-3/5/7, US Army Futures Command located at Fort Bliss, Texas.
This position is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project.
Duties
Develop recommendations for spiral development of capabilities relative to program milestone events (e.g., milestone decision reviews).
Conduct staff studies and analyses to determine appropriate solutions to requirement problems, develops alternative solutions and correct deficiencies.
Review and evaluate program documentation to ensure compliance with policy.
Apply a broad knowledge of currently fielded Army systems.
Plan for implementation of integrated training, innovative concepts, and joint/multinational interoperability efforts
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a three-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following:
1. Participate in design of analytical studies to support assigned programs/plans; 2. Utilize Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) to identify and to justify resources; 3. Participate in staff studies and analyses to determine appropriate solutions to problems to correct deficiencies; and 4. Present and/or communicate (written/oral) technical data to higher senior officials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or grade level position in the federal service (DB 02/GS-11).
