About the Position: A key resource for Program Managers (PMs), Principal Investigators (PIs), and staff, coordinating management and technical tasks for research projects. The role includes managing resources, monitoring expenditures, preparing reports, and assisting with documentation for Internal Program Reviews. Additionally, I serve as a Contract Officer Representative, support contracting processes, and manage transactions as a government credit card holder.
Duties
Serve as a key asset to Program Managers (PM), Principal Investigators (PIs), and other professional staff, coordinating a wide variety of management and technical tasks essential to the program or project administration of the research project team.
Assist PMs and PIs in managing the resources of research projects to ensure that project and program milestones are met. This includes monitoring project expenditures and preparing summary reports of spending.
Assist PMs and PIs in coordinating with Assistant Technical Directors (ATDs) for Internal Program Reviews (IPRs) to develop or collect needed documentation, requirements, and templates.
Participate in meetings as a note-taker and share that information with the team.
Coordinate, track, and follow up on team documents such as agreements, purchase requests, technical reports and technical notes, shipping team equipment, and team documents such as project management plans (PMPs).
Assist PMs and PIs in creating and maintaining basic team marketing requirements, such as fact sheets, ERDC wiki pages, storyboards, and logos.
Perform duties of a Contract Officer Representative and help prepare documentation for team contracting and purchase actions. Monitoring/communication duties associated with multi-year Research and Development contracts.
Serve as a government credit card holder in order to make team purchases, maintain records relating to all transactions, and reconcile and document transactions.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Supporting project team members in research environments; 2) Monitoring project to prepare financial reports; 3) Organizing documentation for meetings and project tracking; 4) Preparing documentation for contracting and purchase actions; 5) Creating digital content, such as fact sheets and wiki pages. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the PP-SER-GR (equivalent to GS-0303-06/07). In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, Laboratory Demonstration Project employees must have a current average performance score of at least 2.5 or equivalent (fully successful rating) for promotion consideration.
