About the position: This position is for the US Army Garrison Directorate servicing the Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division Work Reception Operations (IFS) Fort Detrick, MD. Fort Detrick supports multiple federal agencies and is located within Frederick city limits.

Duties

Ensure availability of materials, equipment, and services to perform real property/equipment maintenance for the Directorate of Public Works's operation and maintenance arena. Coordinate and expedite receipt of the materials in accordance with established procedures. Resolve problems to ensure adequacy of local supply support operations or improve procedures in support of supply programs and operations.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). To qualify at the GS-06 grade level you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience: (1) Assisting in purchasing supplies. 2) Researching customer supply problems. 3) Inputting data into a supply database. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). To qualify at the GS-07 grade level you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience: (1) Screen supply request to verify stock numbers and/or quantities. 2) Managing supply requests in an automated supply system. 3) Review supply discrepancies for customers such as vendors or suppliers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
